Hailing from Isoko, Delta state, Oghenekaro Itene was raised in the lively town of Benin City in Edo State, South Nigeria.

With a degree from the University of Benin, she explored the realm of performing arts from a young age.

Being the youngest of six siblings, she discovered her love for acting at just eight years old after joining the drama club in her elementary school.

CAREER

Oghenekaro Lydia Itene initially captured attention with her acting prowess in the 2013 film “Shattered Mirror,” directed by Lancelot Imasuen Oduwa, where she played Reverend Sister Onyinye.

Her performance in the movie garnered recognition and marked her as an up-and-coming star to watch.

After her success in “Shattered Mirror,” Itene ventured into television, portraying Simi in the drama series “Lincoln’s Clan,” a project by Total Recall/Content Africa that received widespread acclaim across Africa.

Though initially focusing on her makeup artistry business, Kadia Makeovers, Itene returned to acting in 2015 with a role in the popular Mnet Africa series “Tinsel” as a wedding planner.

Subsequently, Itene graced the big screen with roles as Sonia in the film “Glass House” by Africa Magic Original Films/Mnet Production and Tessy in “The Prodigal.”

In 2016, she landed a significant role in the cinematic masterpiece “Esohe,” directed by Charles Uwagbai, portraying the character Itohan.

Her performance in “Esohe” garnered international recognition, leading the film to screenings in prestigious events like the Nollywood Travel festival in Toronto.

The movie received widespread acclaim and was shown in cinemas in the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Nigeria after a successful US tour.
