Kano State High Court orders KANSIEC to proceed with the election

Kano State High Court has ordered the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) to proceed with the Local Government Area (LGA) elections scheduled on Saturday.

Kano State High Court cancelled the order given by the Federal High Court. This decision followed the order from the Federal High Court which Justice Simon Amobeda blocked the elections allegedly stating the connection of KANSIEC’s members to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Justice Sanusi Ma’aji of the Kano State High Court ordered KANSIEC to proceed with the scheduled election, on Friday.

Justice Ma’aji issued directives countering the orders of the Federal High Court stating that KANSIEC has the right to proceed with the local government election.
