5 Household Items In Your Bathroom That You Should Get Rid Of For Healthier Space

The bathroom is a hub of various daily activities, including bathing, grooming, and personal hygiene, making it easy to accumulate numerous objects.

After reading this article, you’ll understand the importance of promptly getting rid of the following items.

Here are five things to eliminate from your bathroom:

1. Toothbrush

Keeping toothbrushes in a sink holder or on the sink can lead to bacteria growth and exposure to germs from flushing toilets. The aerosol effect from flushing can cause germs to land on the toothbrush. Instead, keep your toothbrush in a dry, open area or close the toilet lid before flushing.

2. Extra razors

While shaving is frequent in the bathroom, it’s best to store razors elsewhere to avoid moisture buildup, which can lead to rust or dull blades. To prevent moisture accumulation, store them in a well-sealed plastic bag.

3.Towels

To prevent towels from absorbing unpleasant bathroom odors from the toilet and surrounding area, store them outside the bathroom when not in use. Ideally, keep them in a nearby cupboard or linen closet. If storage space is limited, ensure regular washing to maintain freshness.

4. Makeup and Makeup Brushes

While the bathroom offers optimal lighting for applying makeup, it is not recommended to store brushes or products there due to increased humidity, steam, and temperatures that can foster mold growth and accelerate product expiration. Furthermore, cosmetic brushes can collect germs that may be transferred to the face.

5. Medications

Experts suggest refraining from storing medications and supplements in the bathroom due to potential issues such as heat and humidity, which could lead to deterioration or contamination when kept in a “medicine cabinet.” Since bathrooms tend to harbor germs, it’s wise to limit the number of items left in that space.
